A regular iron will soften the glue and allow for removal. You can try in the middle range of heat and apply the iron to a corner of the laminate. Using a putty knife, you can lift the plastic off. The plastic will be hot, so gloves are suggested. And, it does not take long to get the reaction you want, so be prepaired to move quickly. When all laminate is removed, you can remove the glue with mineral spirits or lacquer thinner.
