we use plastic id cards, but if you loose it then you have to buy a new one ( $5 ) and you get a laminated paper card.

I got my college id a few days ago & they laminate it. Also the guy messed up a bit so theres this corner thats all filled with a blank area. The pic is also very low quality so it looks like im a lego set lol.

We had (in HS) plastic cards, but I know many whose high schools had the paper kind, and even stores whose little discount cards were laminated paper. They get beat up a lot more easily, but are cheaper to make. They are also easier to lose. And the plastic kind you can swipe through a machine. The paper kind have to be either looked at or scanned. Of course, there are some machines that you have to scan the plastic kind, which I hear are highly impractical. It may be that you can swipe the paper kind if it’s heavy enough paper and lamination. I liked the plastic swipes, but to each his (or her) own.
